Extra-Curricular

St John Vianney Primary School offers a variety of extra-curricular activities. These include:

Music

Students in all years have the opportunity to join the primary choir and be part of our annual school musical. We also have a guitar club that regularly meets to learn new skills and perform for school events.

ASPIRE

ASPIRE is a diocesan program of excellence for students in the performing arts arena. Students audition in November each year for a place in the vocal ensemble, instrumental ensemble, drama ensemble and dance ensemble. Those who are selected attend weekly rehearsals in Term 1 to prepare for a showcase in August each year. Our ASPIRE teacher also provides further opportunities to participate in after-school drama classes.

Sport

Students have the opportunity to compete in a range of individual and team sports including athletics, football (soccer), touch football, netball, cross-country and swimming. The pathway for students wishing to compete at a higher level is school, diocesan, NSWCCC, NSW All Schools and then national selection.

Debating and Public Speaking

Year 6 students at St John Vianney compete in the annual Lakes Cluster Regional Primary Schools Debating and Public Speaking Competition.

Spelling Bee

Students from Years 1 to 6 have the opportunity to be part of the Regional and Diocesan Spelling Bee.
